Genuinely Useful Sleep Hacks for Hot Nights 🌙
Posted by Charlotte Nutland onWe’ve been leaning into our favourite Aromatherapy rituals with ourselves, our kids and our families and creating cooling, calming bedtime habits—and we wanted to share them with you, because they really work.
Here are 5 little things that might help you.
Hydration starts in the day
It sounds simple, maybe even boring, but if you’re even slightly dehydrated, your sleep can really be affected . A dry mouth or that nagging thirst can make it harder to drift off. So this is your cue and we're going to do it too: pop the laptop down and go fill a jug of water. Add some fresh mint, basil and lemon if you fancy, or go herbal with a cooling tea.
Cool your feet, calm your core
Your feet are your temperature control hubs. After a day out or a long day working, dip them in a bowl of cool water—or wrap them in a damp flannel. We love adding a spoonful of The Clarity Bathing Salts to the water: Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Himalayan Salts soothe tired feet and help your whole body feel more grounded and less frazzled. Peppermint and Eucalyptus Essential Oils work together to help you feel cooler too. Perfect if you've been on your feet all day.
Create a calm, dark, airy bedroom
Open the windows, but draw the blinds or curtains to keep the air moving but soft. Dim lighting helps your brain shift into rest mode. Mist your room with The Clarity Aromatherapy Mist—a refreshing, soothing blend of Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Lavender this really works to help the space feel cooler and calmer, it smells like a Spa and has that instant sigh feeling, and pop on some gentle music.
Let your eyes and mind rest
Keep your phone, laptop or iPad downstairs. Blue light, noise and stimulation can feel like too much for an already warm, overloaded body. Instead, read a few pages of something gentle, a book, a cook book, a magazine or pop on a podcast there are some really great ones on BBC Sounds.
Wind down with a warm shower + calming Body Oil
Have a warm shower 90 minutes to 2 hours before bed. Then pop on some light, breathable cotton or bamboo pyjamas or a baggy cotton tshirt feels really nice. This might sound surprising—but applying a Body Oil in the heat can actually help your body feel more comforted and calm. The Wise Shower Oil while in the shower or The Wise Body Oil afterwards—both are blended with Clary Sage and Frankincense, known for helping you mentally and emotionally let go. It’s grounding, calming and feels like a gentle exhale before bed.
We hope these little rituals bring a sense of ease and softness to your evenings. If you try them, let us know—we’d love to hear what’s working for you.
Sleep well this evening
