How to Hack Your Hormone Cycle
On average, women will have 40 years of periods throughout their lives. That’s 40 years of potential symptoms that might interfere with your plans day to day. 40 years of the moody days, the bloated days, the spotty days, the angry days, the super tired days.
Women are slowly started to understand our hormonal cycles and work with them. Cycle syncing is a smart and intuitive approach and offers a way to restore balance and rest, rather than pushing through at the same levels all the time.
What is cycle syncing?
As you move through the different phases of your cycle, the way you feel can shift too. For some, the changes are subtle, while for others, hormonal symptoms can feel much more intense. Understanding where you are in your cycle and what your hormones are up to can help you tune in to what your body needs. It can guide you in knowing when to slow down, when to adjust your routines, and when you’re likely to feel most capable and energised.
This starts with tracking your cycle and keeping a daily diary,
Lets understand your Cycle
Understanding the hormone cycle provides insight into how fluctuations in estrogen, progesterone, FSH, and LH influence energy, mood, focus, and even physical performance. For example, rising estrogen in the follicular phase often supports higher energy and cognitive sharpness, while increased progesterone in the luteal phase can lead to lower stamina and a greater need for rest. By recognising these shifts as biological rather than personal shortcomings, we can align tasks with phases of higher productivity and respond with compassion during phases that call for recovery.
Ever noticed how some weeks you feel unstoppable, and other weeks you just want to curl up with tea and a blanket? That’s not in your head — it’s your hormones at work. Our cycle moves through four distinct phases each month, and each one brings its own energy, mood, and needs. When we learn to work with these natural rhythms, we can boost productivity, protect our wellbeing, and feel more compassionate with ourselves along the way.
Menstrual (Day 1–5)
Your period marks the start of your cycle, when estrogen and progesterone are at their lowest. This is why energy often dips and your body craves rest. Think of this phase as a natural invitation to slow down, reflect, and reset. Gentle movement, nourishing meals, and quiet time can help you feel supported.
Follicular (Day 6–13)
As your period ends, estrogen begins to rise, bringing with it more energy, creativity, and motivation. This is a great time to start new projects, brainstorm, or book in workouts that need a little extra stamina. You’ll likely feel sharper, lighter, and more open to new ideas.

Ovulation (Day 14–16)
At ovulation, estrogen peaks and you may notice a boost in confidence, sociability, and focus. This is your most energetic phase of the month. It’s the perfect time to schedule important meetings, social plans, or creative collaborations. You might feel more magnetic and outgoing, so lean into it.
Luteal (Day 17–28)
After ovulation, progesterone rises. This hormone has a calming effect but can also bring bloating, fatigue, or mood shifts. It’s your body’s way of asking for gentler self-care. Focus on finishing projects, creating cosy routines, and prioritising rest. Listening to what your body needs here will make a big difference.
Flowing With Your Cycle
When you start to notice these patterns, you realise your energy isn’t meant to be the same every day. By working with your body instead of against it, you can make the most of your natural highs while showing yourself compassion during the slower phases.
