Gentle Things That Might Help on Hard Day
Posted by Charlotte Nutland onSoft invitations. Try what resonates. Leave the rest.
1. Breathe (and cry if you need to)
Sometimes the body just needs to release. A sigh, a sob, a slow breath out. Letting emotion move through you can be the most healing thing you do today.
2. Take a Shower or Bath
Water has a way of holding us, cleansing us, helping us feel just a little more grounded.
3. Move Gently
You don’t need to “go for a run” or “do yoga.” You can simply walk around the block. Stretch. Lay on the floor. Let your body feel the earth.
4. Eat Something Nourishing
Hard days often dulls appetite or leaves us reaching for sugar and caffeine. No guilt. Just try to give your body something.
5. Rest (Even If It’s Just 10 Minutes)
Difficult feelings, grief, sadness and anger. It can make us feel really tired. Take a few moments to flop onto your bed or sofa and just be. If you feel lonely pop a podcast on.
If today is hard, please be kind to yourself. Cancel what you can. Ask for help if you need it. Light a candle, breathe in something grounding, tomorrow is a new day.
