We sat down with a cup of Yorkshire Tea and chatted to Founder Becca to learn all there is to know about the stunning Highcliffe.

Highcliffe is a family-run business rooted in a deep love for North Cornwall. It began on our family farm in the late 1990s, founded by my dad, Rob Mably, after years of growing organic fruit & veg and with my mum running a small roadside farm shop. Watching families enjoy the beauty of Polzeath, dad imagined creating a place where people could slow down, connect, and make lifelong memories.

Fast forward to 2020, I was living in London, working in the music industry, when dad called with the news that our long-awaited planning application had finally been approved. The vision had grown: 20 new properties, a gym, and yoga studio. Fitness and movement have always been important to me, and the prospect of being able to bring this to Highcliffe led to a leap of faith as I left my job and returned home to join dad in building something new together.

Beyond this, I’ve always been really interested in design and interiors and, specifically, how thoughtful design can influence your feelings and experience of a space. Working closely with my twin sister and designer, Bonnie, we wanted Highcliffe to feel different — softer, calmer, and more considered. From the architecture through to the interiors and final details, our aim was to bring a gentle, feminine energy to the project, while collaborating with like-minded women along the way.

One of those collaborations was with our friend Amy Brock-Morgan, Head of Repairs at Finisterre, who created a beautiful wall hanging for the studio using old cloth that would otherwise have gone to waste. It’s since become a defining feature of the space and reflects our desire to move away from the typical Cornish seaside aesthetic that you might expect.

Today, Highcliffe is run by a predominantly female team and regularly hosts yoga and surf retreats, welcoming teachers and guests from near and far to this special corner of North Cornwall. Alongside our daily yoga, Pilates and Reformer Pilates classes, Highcliffe has become a place where people can unwind, reconnect, and move at their own pace, while still remaining a much-loved destination for family holidays.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue collaborating, widening our community, trying new ideas, and working with inspiring women as Highcliffe continues to evolve.
